About the position

The Field Application Engineer at McAfee is responsible for collaborating with large OEM partners to enhance cybersecurity solutions for consumers. This role involves understanding partner needs, managing projects, and ensuring product quality through technical troubleshooting and process improvement. The position requires a proactive approach and a strong focus on building relationships with partners while adapting to various technical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 OEM partners, addressing both technical and business aspects.
  • Quickly understand partner-specific environments and make recommendations to reduce technical complications.
  • Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams and agile projects across various sites and geographical locations.
  • Plan requirements with both external and internal partners, manage project schedules, and deploy products.
  • Understand the delivered products at a technical level and work directly with McAfee Engineering to troubleshoot and remediate any issues.
  • Define comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for partner projects and execute those plans to ensure our products meet McAfee's quality standards.
  • Own and drive meetings, presentations, troubleshooting, and product validation remote or regular onsite at partner locations.
  • Review and provide recommendations to streamline or make existing execution process more efficient.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of partner-facing experience with the ability to form relationships at various levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing both executive and individual contributor levels.
  • Experience in software development and quality assurance, primarily for Windows platforms.
  • Understanding of software development principles and methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
  • Proficiency in software troubleshooting tools such as windbg, ADK, and Fiddler on Windows platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Ability to operate autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in multi-lingual and cross-cultural work environments.
