About the position

The Field Application Engineer, Cellular Modules, is a pivotal role within Semtech Corporation, focusing on providing exceptional technical support and expertise to customers who are integrating Semtech's cellular modules into their products. This position is remote, primarily serving clients on the West Coast of the USA. The engineer will work closely with various teams, including sales, product management, and research and development (R&D), to ensure that customers receive the highest level of service and satisfaction during the integration process. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for both pre-sales and post-sales technical support, which includes assisting customers with the integration of Semtech cellular modules into their products. This involves providing guidance on hardware and software aspects of the integration, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and serving as the primary technical point of contact for customers and prospects. The engineer will also collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide tailored technical solutions that help close sales. Additionally, the Field Application Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting customers through the certification process of their products with cellular network operators. This includes conducting training sessions and product demonstrations for customers, distributors, and partners, as well as participating in trade shows and conferences to promote Semtech's cellular module products. The engineer will also contribute to the development of application notes that guide the use of Semtech cellular module products, ensuring that customers have the resources they need to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and prospects, focused on the Semtech cellular module portfolio.
• Assist customers with the integration of Semtech cellular modules into their products, providing guidance on both hardware and software aspects of the integration.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and prospects.
• Troubleshoot and drive to resolution complex technical issues related to the integration of cellular modules into the customers' products.
• Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions, helping to close sales.
• Collaborate with product management and R&D teams to provide feedback and drive product improvements based on customer input.
• Support customers in the certification process of their products with cellular network operators.
• Conduct customer, distributor, and partner training and product demonstrations.
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings to promote Semtech cellular module products.
• Provide technical responses to RFIs and RFPs using Semtech products and services.
• Contribute to the development of application notes for the use of Semtech cellular module products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience in wireless telecommunications.
• Strong technical knowledge of cellular systems required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are a must.
• Candidate must be highly self-motivated.
