About the position

The Field Application Engineer role at Altium focuses on providing exceptional technical service and support to prospects and customers in the Digital Channel, particularly in PCB Design and Data Management. The position aims to enhance product adoption and customer retention while promoting the Altium brand through effective technical engagement and support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical discovery engagements and technical sales presentations.
  • Create and deliver quality technical content to assist sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Quickly grasp client technical and business challenges while establishing credibility.
  • Reduce the sales cycle by assisting the Sales Team in driving the sales process.
  • Expand the sales pipeline within targeted accounts and serve as the main technical liaison.
  • Participate in strategic planning related to driving and closing sales opportunities.
  • Drive adoption of Altium's product portfolio by increasing subscription commitments and renewals.
  • Constantly expand technical knowledge by exploring technical content and the Altium product roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with enthusiasm for Altium's goals and products.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer.
  • Experience in technical content creation and technical demonstrations.
  • Excellent group and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of PCB Design, Data Management, and Cloud Solutions.
  • Experience with PCB Simulation & Analysis (SPICE, Signal Integrity, Power Integrity) is desirable.
  • Ability to match business needs with the correct technical solution.
  • Ability to perform mid-level Application Engineering, Support, and Sales functions as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform tasks proactively without direct supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to travel with short notice.
