About The Position
WEG Electric Corp. is seeking a Field Application Engineer to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role is pivotal in providing both pre-sales and post-sales field service for our Automation products. The Field Application Engineer will be responsible for commissioning, warranty evaluation, repair, and technical support services, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service and expertise. In this position, the engineer will serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting, installation, startup, and commissioning of Automation WEG products. This includes providing pre-sales support to key customers, assisting with proof of concept, product configuration, and integration into customer systems in collaboration with the local sales team. The engineer will also be responsible for routine maintenance on various Automation WEG products, offering technical expertise and guidance for repairs, and conducting technical product training for both internal personnel and customers. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot, rewrite, and program logic on machines, as well as assist with warranty evaluations to determine if specific field service activities fall under WEG warranty agreements. The engineer will work closely with Authorized Service Centers to achieve job-specific objectives and will exhibit effective customer service skills, projecting a positive corporate image. After completing activities at customer sites, the engineer will establish expectations for follow-up activities by negotiating timelines and scopes of work. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical service reports, expense reports, and time sheets related to the services executed for billing and record purposes, and may provide backup to the Repair Lab and technical support as needed.
