About the position

The Field Application Specialist at HammerHead is responsible for providing advanced technical support and training for HammerHead equipment applications. This role involves facilitating customer training, conducting live demonstrations, and supporting sales through pilot programs. The position requires extensive travel to various job sites and a commitment to high-quality customer service and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate customer training using specialized industry expertise and adult learning principles.
  • Support sales by conducting pilot programs and providing technical support for rental equipment.
  • Perform live above-ground demonstrations for prospective customers.
  • Assess trainees using a standardized rubric for certification purposes.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge of HammerHead Trenchless product lines.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the development of training curriculum and materials.
  • Test products in the field and at the main facility.
  • Provide regular feedback to product management regarding customer issues and needs.
  • Participate in regional and national trade shows.
  • Maintain budgeted expense levels.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Valid US driver's license required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the trenchless industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated record of working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint or equivalent.
  • Results-oriented, hands-on approach to customer support and training.
  • Ability to mentor and coach customers on best practices.
  • Critical reasoning skills and ability to listen and acquire critical information.
  • Team-oriented persona with a focus on collaboration.
  • Self-starter with the discipline to schedule and complete tasks without direct supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum five years of experience in the industry for Tier 2.
  • Minimum three years of experience in the industry plus one year of experience as a trainer, project manager, project supervisor, or crew leader for Tier 2.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in the industry for Tier 3.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in the industry plus three years of experience as a trainer, project manager, project supervisor, or crew leader for Tier 3.
