About the position

KLA is a global leader in diversified electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, and we are always looking to build our Field Applications Engineering talent community. Although we do not currently have an opening, we are interested in learning about your background for future opportunities. Field Applications Engineers play a crucial role in providing technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities. This position involves presenting on all aspects of our products and assisting sales staff in assessing the potential application of our products to meet customer needs. You will be responsible for preparing detailed product specifications and implementing customer installation plans, ensuring that our products are effectively integrated into customer operations. In this role, you will also provide follow-up support by disseminating technical information on specific applications and developing new applications, use cases, and best-known methods to increase the value of KLA products for our customers. Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills are essential, as is a self-motivated attitude and a drive to make a positive impact. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to shape the product roadmap and assist in Beta and evaluation closures. Excellent written and communication skills are required, particularly in delivering technical presentations with clarity. Experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry and semiconductor processing is desirable, along with knowledge of optics, ellipsometry, X-ray metrology, Optical CD 2D/3D modeling, statistical analysis tools, and machine learning concepts. Programming and scripting skills are an added advantage. Candidates must be willing to travel within the US.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities.

Requirements

  • Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; or Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years.
  • BS degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including delivering technical presentations with clarity.
  • Experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry and semiconductor processing is desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Foreign language skills would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of optics, ellipsometry, X-ray metrology, Optical CD 2D/3D modeling, statistical analysis tools, and machine learning concepts is desirable.
  • Programming and scripting skills are an added advantage.
