About the position

The Field Applications Engineer role at KLA is focused on providing technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities. This position is essential for ensuring that KLA's technologies are effectively utilized to meet customer needs, and it involves collaboration with sales staff, cross-functional teams, and customers to enhance product value and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical applications support for KLA products in customer fabrication facilities.
  • Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare detailed product specifications.
  • Implement detailed customer installation plans.
  • Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications.
  • Develop new applications, use cases, and best-known methods for increasing the value of KLA products for customers.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to shape product roadmaps and manage Beta and evaluation closures.

Requirements

  • Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; or Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years.
  • BS degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • Analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven to make a positive impact.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including delivering technical presentations with clarity.
  • Experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry and semiconductor processing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Foreign language skills.
  • Knowledge of optics, ellipsometry, X-ray metrology, Optical CD 2D/3D modeling, statistical analysis tools, and machine learning concepts.
  • Programming and scripting skills.
