The company is always looking to build its talent community, particularly in the role of Field Applications Engineers, even when specific openings are not available. This role is crucial to KLA's technology, as Field Applications Engineers provide essential technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities. The responsibilities of a Field Applications Engineer include presenting on all aspects of KLA products, assisting sales staff in assessing potential applications to meet customer needs, and preparing detailed product specifications. They are also responsible for implementing customer installation plans and providing follow-up support by disseminating technical information on specific applications. The role requires analytical and complex problem-solving skills, as well as self-motivation and a drive to make a positive impact. Field Applications Engineers work closely with cross-functional teams to shape product roadmaps and ensure successful beta and evaluation closures. Candidates for this position should possess excellent written and communication skills, particularly in delivering technical presentations clearly. Experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry and knowledge of optics, ellipsometry, X-ray metrology, and statistical analysis tools are desirable. Additionally, programming and scripting skills are considered an advantage. The position may require travel within the United States, and candidates should have a Master's Level Degree or a Bachelor's Level Degree with related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities.
  • Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare detailed product specifications.
  • Implement detailed customer installation plans.
  • Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications.
  • Develop new applications, use cases, and best-known methods for increasing the value of KLA products for customers.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to shape product roadmap, Beta, and evaluation closures.

Requirements

  • Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; or Bachelor's Level Degree with 2 years of related work experience.
  • BS degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • Analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven to make a positive impact.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including delivering technical presentations with clarity.
  • Experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry and semiconductor processing is desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Foreign language skills would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of optics, ellipsometry, X-ray metrology, Optical CD 2D/3D modeling, statistical analysis tools, and machine learning concepts is desirable.
  • Programming and scripting skills are an added advantage.
