The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) position is part of Texas Instruments' (TI) FAST Development Program, specifically designed to prepare team members for customer-oriented careers that blend technical skills with business perspectives. This 12-month program includes two six-month rotations: the first in a Field Sales Office (FSO) and the second in Systems Engineering & Marketing (SEM). During the FSO rotation, participants will learn to work directly with customers to address technical challenges and maximize TI's revenue by providing tailored systems-level solutions. This involves analyzing technical trade-offs, understanding component selection, and solving design and cost challenges. The SEM rotation focuses on hands-on experiences that help future FAEs understand how various TI components integrate to provide comprehensive solutions for customer designs, covering aspects such as technical product selection, schematic/layout capture, PCB layouts, fabrication processes, and board validation. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will join TI's Worldwide Sales & Applications team as FAEs. Their responsibilities will include identifying potential projects using various sales tools and relationships with design engineering, providing proactive proposals for complete system-level solutions, and leveraging their technical expertise to influence customers' part selection processes while positioning TI favorably against competitors. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
