About the position

The Field Applications Engineer at KLA Corporation is responsible for providing technical applications support for product development and implementation. This role involves making presentations, assisting sales staff, and preparing detailed product specifications to meet customer needs. The engineer will also be responsible for customer training, project execution, and follow-up support, ensuring effective installation and utilization of products in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical applications support for product development and implementation.
• Make presentations on all aspects of products.
• Assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of products to meet customer needs.
• Prepare detailed product specifications.
• Be responsible for acceptance tests, customer training, recipe setup, and project execution.
• Implement detailed customer installation plans.
• Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications.
• Work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors for issue resolution.
• Collaborate with software and systems engineering to resolve hardware and software problems.
• Work with customers and divisions to maximize the benefit of products.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve products and implement plans.
• Apply engineering knowledge.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field (or foreign equivalent).
• Experience or education in Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques.
• Experience with semiconductor or material characterization techniques, including SEM, XRD, or TEM.
• Experience in yield or failure analysis using various data analysis or statistics skills.
• Knowledge of Spectroscopic Reflectometry.
• Familiarity with Semiconductor Manufacturing Process.
• Proficiency in Python Programming Language.

• Salary range: $97,039 - $132,800 per year.
