About the position

Luminus, Inc. is seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer specializing in Power Semiconductors to join our dynamic team in Sunnyvale, CA. This role is pivotal in supporting our customers and potential clients in the power semiconductor sector, particularly focusing on SiC and GaN technologies. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between our innovative products and the needs of our customers, ensuring they receive the highest level of technical support and guidance. You will play a crucial role in setting up our Sunnyvale power semiconductor applications lab, where you will conduct tests and experiments to validate our products' performance and reliability. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our sales team, providing technical expertise that will enhance our customer relationships and drive sales growth. In this role, you will act as a technical liaison between our factory in China and our customers, ensuring clear communication and understanding of product specifications and requirements. You will be responsible for publishing application notes, reference circuit diagrams, and technical white papers that will serve as valuable resources for our customers. Additionally, you will be the first point of contact for any technical inquiries, quality issues, or corrective action reports, ensuring that our customers receive timely and effective solutions. Your expertise will also be utilized in performing competitive benchmark testing and publishing comprehensive competitive analysis reports, helping to position Luminus as a leader in the power semiconductor market.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sales and customers in all technical aspects of selling
  • Set-up Sunnyvale power semi applications lab and test parts as needed in the lab
  • Act as technical liaison between China factory and customers
  • Publish application notes, reference circuit diagrams and technical white papers
  • Answer customer's technical questions
  • Act as first line of communication for quality issues and corrective action reports
  • Perform competitive benchmark testing and publish competitive analysis reports

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience
  • Hands-on experience with power semiconductors
  • Experience with SiC and GaN power semi products
