About the position

KLA is a global leader in diversified electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, and we are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our Customer Engagement (CE) team. This team is responsible for providing technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities. The role involves maintaining strategic client relationships, partnering with our sales team to identify and close sales opportunities, and ensuring that our products meet performance capabilities and expectations. You will be tasked with providing critical solutions for improved yield performance and collecting requirements for future products by understanding customer processes and technology trends. As part of the CE team, you will work closely with our customers to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of products, software, and expertise. Your responsibilities will include making presentations on all aspects of our products, assisting sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products to meet customer technical requirements, and preparing detailed product specifications. You will also implement detailed customer installation plans, provide support in training customers, and share technical information on specific applications. This role requires solving complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation, design of experiments, and effective communication between customers and specialists. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the semiconductor fabrication industry, with a focus on optics, material science, or a related field. You will be expected to show persistence and dedication to understanding and solving critical customer problems, and possess strong communication skills to present technical content to a broad audience. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities.
  • Make presentations on all aspects of products.
  • Assist sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer technical requirements and preparing detailed product specifications.
  • Implement detailed customer installation plans.
  • Provide support in training customers and sharing technical information on specific applications.
  • Solve complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation, design of experiments, and communication between customers and specialists.
  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Requirements

  • MS / Ph.D. preferred in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Optics, Material Science or a related field.
  • Experience in the semiconductor fabrication industry or equivalent experience.
  • Strong project management skills and well-organized.
  • Persistence and dedication to understanding and solving critical customer problems.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience presenting technical content to a broad audience.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Completion of a university-level course/research project/internship/thesis, or 6+ months of experience in cleanroom environments, semiconductor device application and characterization, optics (Microscopy, Lasers, SEM, etc.), computer operating systems, networking, basic programming skills (Matlab, Labview, Python, or equivalent), and data analysis tools (Excel, JMP, Minitab, Igor, Origin or equivalent).
