About the position

The Field Applications Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations is a key role within the Business Development Team, responsible for engaging with customers to generate new business opportunities. This position involves technical discussions, product design solutions, and collaboration with various teams to ensure customer requirements are met effectively.

Responsibilities

• Engage with product marketing, sales, and customers to generate product design solutions.
• Build responsive technical relationships with customers.
• Conduct data analytics, including market and technology research.
• Understand internal and vendor manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide input for product manufacturing and testing requirements.
• Interface with customers and vendors to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
• Interpret customer and internal drawings and 3D files.
• Communicate conceptual designs to customers and internal manufacturing teams.
• Review customer documents for compliance with AAO requirements.
• Understand financial cost and pricing of AAO products.
• Communicate design advantages of Amphenol products to customers and relay customer needs to internal teams.
• Redefine designs to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering preferred.
• Ability to work with CAD and ProE applications for design.
• Experience working with internal and external cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, averaging 25-50% travel.
• Ability to work in a desk/office setting.
