About the position

The Field Applications Engineer is responsible for leveraging technical expertise to drive customer engagement and demand creation for Arrow's products. This role involves acting as a technical lead on complex customer projects, providing advanced support to the sales team, and managing relationships with key decision-makers in both supplier and customer organizations. The engineer will utilize their understanding of market needs and supplier technologies to shape strategies and guide technical direction, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced understanding of customer needs to champion return on engineering investment.
  • Act as technical lead on large, complex customer engagements.
  • Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs.
  • Partner with sales team across pre-and post-sales activities, providing advanced technical support.
  • Champion design win priorities and initiatives by obtaining buy-in from sales.
  • Provide technical leadership to the branch, customers, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate understanding of supplier technologies and market needs.
  • Position Arrow's differential value proposition and supplier technologies.
  • Manage supplier and customer expectations by building relationships with senior decision makers.
  • Attend and participate in strategic branch meetings and QBR.
  • Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions.
  • Create and conduct engineering customer events or training.

Requirements

  • 4 year Bachelor's degree in engineering-based studies.
  • 3+ years experience in electronics hardware design, firmware/embedded design, or IoT design with Microcontrollers (MCUs).
  • 3+ years of experience as applications engineer or Field Application Engineer supporting customers with Electronics and Embedded design.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and drive results.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
