About the position

The Field Automation Engineer position is a remote role for a large multi-national company, responsible for supporting the installation, startup, and repair of complex automated equipment at various project sites across the U.S. The role requires 100% travel, including international travel for training, and candidates must be fluent in Spanish. Responsibilities

• PLC programming in ladder and structured text for main PLCs such as Rockwell, Siemens, and B&R.
• Programming of VFDs and network managed switches.
• Setting up upstream and downstream interlocks to third-party equipment.
• Integrating automation peripherals including labelers, checkweighers, barcode readers, and vision cameras.
• Interpreting electrical schematics and supervising electrical tasks.
• Supervising and coordinating contractors reporting to the Project Manager (PM).
• Reporting timelines and project updates to the PM.
• Working on customer startup projects.
• Documenting equipment and projects.
• Training final operators and supervisors on the equipment.
• Servicing existing equipment in the field, identifying errors/failures, and determining root causes and preventative actions.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in automation and PLC programming.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Fluency in Spanish is strongly encouraged.
