About the position

The Field Automation Engineer position is a remote role for a large multi-national company, responsible for supporting the installation, startup, and repair of complex automated equipment at various project sites across the US. The role requires 100% travel, and candidates must be willing to travel internationally for training. Fluency in Spanish is strongly encouraged, and all travel expenses are covered by the company.

Responsibilities

• PLC programming ladder and structured text of main PLCs - Rockwell, Siemens and B&R.
• VFD's programming, network managed switches, etc.
• Upstream and downstream interlocks set-up to third party equipment.
• Integration of automation peripherals: labelers, checkweighers, barcode readers, vision cameras.
• Electrical schematics interpretation and supervision of electrical tasks.
• Supervision and coordination of contractors reporting to PM.
• Reporting timelines & project updates to PM.
• Working on customer start-up projects.
• Documentation of equipment and Projects.
• Training to final operators and supervisors about the equipment.
• Service existing equipment within the field - identify errors/failures to determine the root cause and preventative actions.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in automation and PLC programming.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
