Field Biologist

About the position

The Field Biologist/Project Manager role at ManpowerGroup involves balancing the development and protection of natural resources. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including landowners, developers, and environmental consultants, to conduct field investigations, lead biological surveys, and manage projects related to environmental consulting.

Responsibilities

• Research existing data sources and perform field investigations to document baseline conditions of the existing environment.
• Lead biology surveys, including biological reconnaissance, vegetation mapping, rare plant surveys, jurisdictional delineations, and focused species surveys.
• Draft and review due diligence/constraints reports, focused survey reports, GIS mapping, jurisdictional delineation reports, and biological technical reports.
• Lead biological preconstruction surveys and monitoring for construction and restoration projects.
• Propose, develop, and execute business development plans, proposals, and work plans.
• Lead client meetings and manage client relationships and work products.
• Lead regulatory and wildlife permitting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology, botany, environmental science, ecology, or similar discipline with biological emphasis.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of environmental consulting experience in the Southern California marketplace.
• 1+ years demonstrating success with project management, client relations, and business development.
• High energy and physically able to hike on uneven terrain for extended periods.
