About the position

The Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Public Sector at Gigamon is responsible for leading the company's cybersecurity strategy, particularly focusing on Zero Trust initiatives. This role involves acting as a trusted advisor to public sector clients, managing a team of Field Sales Engineers, and delivering innovative security solutions tailored to the needs of Federal and State & Local Government and Education (SLED) environments. The position requires a blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills to drive successful client engagements and ensure satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Evangelize Gigamon's Deep Observability Pipeline solution to public sector customers, analysts, and the industry.
• Collaborate with clients to assess their adoption of the Zero Trust framework and provide guidance to the Product Line Management team.
• Lead the execution of Gigamon's Zero Trust strategy for the public sector market.
• Support the Director of Public Policy in engagements with US Federal government and SLED legislative bodies.
• Partner with the VP of Public Sector Sales to identify new business opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor for public sector clients, delivering presentations and technical workshops.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key client and partner stakeholders.
• Build strategic plans and roadmaps to drive market penetration and exceed sales targets.
• Engage in complex negotiations and provide technical insights during the sales cycle.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Engineering Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, focusing on cybersecurity architectures.
• At least 7 years of experience in the public sector.
• Expertise in Zero Trust principles and network security technologies.
• Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
• Familiarity with Gigamon's product suite.
• Security Clearance: SECRET or TOP SECRET.

• Base salary range of $224,000 - $275,000.
