Field Concrete Journeyman

About the position

The Concrete Journeyman at Landmark Structures is responsible for various tasks related to water tower construction projects, requiring a diverse skill set and the ability to work independently. This role involves setting forms, tying rebar, placing concrete, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met on the job site. The position demands flexibility and adaptability as the journeyman will transition between different tasks as project needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Setting forms for concrete pours
• Tying reinforcing steel (rebar)
• Placing concrete and removing forms
• Laying out, erecting, dismantling, and loading tank jigs, scaffolding, and other steel structures
• Securing, bracing, and pinning steel plates and associated structures
• Basic surveying and general layout abilities
• Knowledge of rigging and signaling for cranes
• Safe operation of construction tools and equipment
• Grinding, sanding, and polishing as needed
• Practicing safe working habits and using personal protective equipment
• Reporting incidents and unsafe conditions to supervisors
• Maintaining a clean and orderly job site and equipment
• Interacting professionally with supervisors and peers
• Following company policies and procedures
• Performing work to quality standards
• Understanding and implementing fall protection methods

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of similar experience
• Experience setting forms for concrete pours
• Experience tying rebar
• Knowledge of dirt work and earthwork for site development
• Ability to travel frequently and work at heights
• Familiarity with OSHA and regulatory requirements
