About the position

The position involves managing and executing construction projects valued up to $30 million, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires strong leadership skills to oversee both construction and professional field teams, while also facilitating communication with clients and subcontractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing project-specific plans, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute a project value of up to $30 million.
  • Develop and execute a Safety Activity Plan specific to the project.
  • Create and implement a construction execution plan.
  • Develop and execute a project-specific Inspection and Testing Plan.
  • Manage professional staff associated with the project, including project controls, quality, safety, field engineering, project accounting, and materials management.
  • Facilitate site construction meetings with project managers and clients.
  • Manage final project walk-throughs and inspections pre/post construction.
  • Generate data with associated costs to assist project managers with change order requests.
  • Facilitate and manage a 3-day or up to 30/60/90 day look-ahead plan and schedule.
  • Attend estimated change order reviews on labor placement rates and provide best installation practices.
  • Assist engineering with installation knowledge and best practices.
  • Perform field isometric sketches of piping and equipment, and field take-offs for electrical heat trace, instrumentation, insulation, and power distribution.
  • Manage all project completion documentation and turnover documentation to the client.
  • Work and maintain a punch list with all associated close-out documents.
  • Hold project team accountable to nVent QA/QC program.
  • Perform reviews on project craft labor and supervision on performance/accountability and safety.
  • Manage budget through control processes to measure project health, including PPA reports, schedules, and field entries.
  • Manage materials required for the project and field purchase requisitions.

Requirements

  • Preferred construction management degree with a minimum of 5 years of construction project experience or 8 years of equivalent experience.
  • Experience in building and managing both construction and professional field teams.
  • Proven communication and negotiation skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Strong written and computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and SAP.
  • Ability to develop and execute project-specific plans and manage professional staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Primavera scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of NEC/NFPA requirements and OSHA training guidelines.
  • Familiarity with insulation applications and installation practices.
