About the position

As a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions at United Rentals, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on complex equipment owned by customers. This role requires a high level of skill and independent judgment, as you will work with minimal supervision. You will also have opportunities for career advancement within the Service Department, contributing to exceptional customer service and maintaining a professional service vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment.
• Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed in a complete and timely manner.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair and maintenance of customer-owned equipment.
• Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
• Must own tools applicable to the position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
