In this position, you will provide essential support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, playing a key role in compiling production and cost statistics. Your analytical skills will be crucial in identifying problem areas within production statistics. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, Accounting, Clients, Vendors, and Subcontractors, to ensure that all project-related paperwork, correspondence, and submittals are handled promptly. This proactive approach is vital for guaranteeing the project's acceptance from inception to completion. Your work will involve both office and field settings, where you will help drive the project forward to meet deadlines while ensuring accuracy. The projects you will be involved in include highway and roadway initiatives, such as road reconstruction, bridge construction, street widening, and the installation or replacement of roadway drainage systems. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from preparing project submittals and maintaining project logs to assisting in the preparation of work plans and obtaining necessary permits for job site activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
  • Compiles production and cost statistics and analyzes production statistics to identify problem areas.
  • Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, Accounting, Clients, Vendors, and Subcontractors to ensure timely responses to paperwork and correspondence.
  • Prepares and distributes project submittals.
  • Prepares subcontracts and purchase agreements for the project.
  • Maintains and distributes plan drawings and revisions.
  • Initializes and maintains required project logs (RFI's, Change Orders, Submittals).
  • Assists in the preparation of work plans for upcoming scopes of work.
  • Obtains required permits for job site activity.
  • Sets up utilities, services, and water meters.
  • Tracks quantities to ensure accurate payment by the owner.
  • Tracks project expenses and records them in Heavy Job/Viewpoint on a weekly basis.
  • Maintains strict adherence to company policies and performs weekly safety inspections.
  • Assists project teams in preparing and maintaining safety meetings.
  • Maintains daily production quantities for cost.
  • Reviews budgets and adjusts job costing.
  • Manages change order correspondence and tracking.
  • Assists and ensures timely and accurate project closeouts.
  • Assists with scheduling.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • 6 months to 3 years of construction experience required (including internships, preferably heavy civil experience).
  • Knowledge of field concepts, practices, and procedures pertaining to highway/road construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision and as a team player.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Pass criminal and driving background checks.
  • Valid Driver License.
