About the position

The Field Engineer Technician (Instrument Operator) at Holder Construction plays a crucial role in supporting field supervision on construction projects. This position involves operating surveying instruments and ensuring accurate measurements for construction purposes. The ideal candidate is a team player who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate electronic total station instruments, transit, Auto-level, and other surveying instruments.
  • Set and mark stakes for slopes, grades, and other construction purposes.
  • Determine and set markers, lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances.
  • Maintain total station and field book, as well as survey equipment and tools.
  • Provide primary support to field supervision, demonstrating ownership of assigned tasks and professionalism.

Requirements

  • 2 years of construction/surveying experience using total station and site levels.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Complete understanding of surveying math.
  • Good communication skills.
