About the position

The Field Finishing Superintendent at Metromont, LLC plays a crucial role in overseeing the finishing operations of precast concrete projects. This position is based in Winchester, VA, and is integral to ensuring that productivity expectations are established and met across various projects and crews. The superintendent will be responsible for measuring and reporting on productivity levels, providing guidance to crew members on improving efficiency, and maintaining regular communication with other departments to foster continuous improvement. In addition to productivity oversight, the Field Finishing Superintendent will maintain close contact with yard finishing operations to ensure that all finished product requirements are met prior to shipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills to address any finishing issues that may arise, as well as the ability to schedule crew activities and make adjustments based on the overall needs of the company. Evaluating individual skill levels and making appropriate crew assignments is also a key responsibility, along with assisting the Field Operation Manager in estimating work duration and making crew assignments. The superintendent will also be tasked with teaching finishing skills to crew members, operating equipment such as swing stages and JLG man lifts, and communicating with customers regarding concrete finishes. Establishing a project punch list and assigning tasks to complete the work is essential, as is the ability to patch and blend ARCHT products and teach epoxy injection techniques. Adherence to Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations is mandatory, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Establish productivity expectations for each project and crew.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced level of experience with architectural precast finishing and repair.
