The Field Implementation Technician role is crucial in supporting the implementation of our medical technologies and ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of training and support. This position will report directly to the Clinical Manager and will involve managing responsibilities within the allotted travel and expense budget, providing monthly updates on national training activities, and leading product implementations. The technician will be responsible for training on new product releases, addressing practitioner and patient inquiries, and collaborating closely with Clinical Specialists and Territory Managers to resolve any issues that arise. In this role, you will continuously highlight the essential benefits of our technology to both direct users and hospital personnel. You will evaluate and communicate customer insights and unmet needs to ensure innovative product development and enhancements. Facilitating customer training classes and collaborating with regional teams to support customer engagements from pre-sale through post-conversion will be key aspects of your responsibilities. You will develop strong relationships with end-users, provide routine follow-up support, and assist in creating clinical education materials and training programs to ensure successful implementations of new technologies in the field. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of vascular access, IV therapy, infusion therapy, and laboratory or phlebotomy. You will aid sales personnel by building strong relationships with end-users during product in-servicing and clinical education programs. Establishing excellent rapport with Clinical Specialists, Territory Managers, and Associate-Territory Managers is essential, as is collaborating with the sales team in key account management strategy sessions. You will also provide clinical support, training, and education for team members as needed, and participate in trade shows to promote the company's product lines. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can manage priorities with minimal supervision and work effectively in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manages responsibilities within the allotted T&E expense budget.
  • Provides monthly updates to the Clinical Manager on national training activities and support provided across the country.
  • Leads and drives product implementations, including training on new product release kickoffs.
  • Answers practitioner and patient questions and works closely with Clinical Specialists and Territory Managers to facilitate resolution of inquiries.
  • Continuously highlights the essential benefits of the technology to direct users and hospital personnel.
  • Evaluates and communicates customer insights and unmet needs across the continuum of care.
  • Facilitates customer training classes in support of new implementations and conversions for key customers.
  • Collaborates with Regional Teams to clinically support customer engagements from pre-sale through post-conversion.
  • Develops strong, working relationships with end-users while providing product in-servicing and clinical education.
  • Provides routine follow-up support to customers at end-user locations as needed.
  • Works with CM to ensure scheduling and activities produce the greatest return on investment.
  • Assists with the creation of clinical education materials, protocols, tools, and clinical training programs for end-users and sales/marketing/clinical staff.
  • Contributes to the improvement of the project management function through the creation of additional procedures and processes.
  • Demonstrates practical application of successful adult learning practices and methodologies.

Requirements

  • National Certification (Nationally Registered Paramedic) or State License equivalent, Associate degree in paramedic science preferred, or equivalent experience per hiring manager discretion.
  • Maintains paramedic licensure (nationally and/or state) with good standing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years general clinical experience, three must be in the field related to vascular access devices (including peripheral IV catheters), connectors, and lab draws.
  • Ability to work with extensive travel requirements including weekends, evenings, nights, and travel up to 100%.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD's auto safety standards.
  • Employs a strong work ethic and works independently with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Relates effectively to all levels of associates both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates problem solving and decision making ability.
  • Exhibits ability to present to customers and internal staff clearly and effectively utilizing adult learning principles.
  • Possesses basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Has exceptional skills in verbal and written communication, interpersonal relationships, documentation, and organization.
