About the position

The Field Logistics Technician (FLT) position at SAIC involves providing high-level technical support, system integration, and field service engineering for the IBCS Program. The role requires collaboration with military and civilian personnel to ensure the effective deployment, operation, and maintenance of the IBCS system, while also handling customer inquiries and performing on-site installations and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers to handle service inquiries and problems, including installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
  • Conduct on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order.
  • Isolate equipment start-up malfunctions and take corrective action.
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate strong knowledge of products.
  • Train customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities.
  • Establish company guidelines on servicing and repairs/returns; examine customer problems and implement appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain logs, records, and files related to service activities.
  • Refer more complex repairs and services to higher-level personnel.
  • Represent the company in a customer support role and ensure customer satisfaction with equipment and servicing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of experience; additional six (6) years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess an active Interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently with short-term deadlines.
  • General knowledge of training, 1-5 years of experience in property accountability/responsibility, inventory procedures, and operator maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • System administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, switches, routers, network topologies, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; able to articulate and communicate clearly via email, phone calls, and video teleconference.
  • Knowledge of military operations, procedures, and training activities.
