About the position

As a Nuclear Field Machinist at Aerotek, you will play a crucial role in the operation of various machines essential for the machining, repair, and rebuilding of components used in power, paper, and pulp plants. Your primary responsibilities will include operating Manual Mills, Lathes (up to 240 Inch), Vertical Boring Mills, Drill Presses, and Vertical Grinders. You will be tasked with machining unique, one-off pieces, which requires a high level of customization and precision. This position demands proficiency in the machining process, as you will be responsible for the repair and rebuilding of critical components such as pumps, shafts, gears, drives, valves, and turbines. Additionally, you will utilize hand tools to make necessary adjustments to the machines, ensuring optimal performance and quality of work. The role is not just about technical skills; it also requires strong teamwork and collaboration. You will be working closely with other team members on custom projects, which necessitates a willingness to cooperate and communicate effectively. The work environment is dynamic and team-oriented, emphasizing the importance of working together to achieve project goals. Given the nature of the job, you will be traveling to various sites, which adds an exciting element to the role as you engage with different projects and challenges across locations. This position is classified as a Contract-to-Hire role, with an expected duration of 11 weeks, providing an opportunity for candidates to demonstrate their skills and potentially secure a permanent position based on performance and fit within the team.
