The Field Medical Director (FMD) plays a crucial role in the Medical Affairs Department, serving as a field-facing representative responsible for engaging healthcare practitioners and facilitating clinical research. The FMD's primary objective is to exchange scientific data and educate healthcare professionals about ImmunityBio's products and relevant disease states. This role requires a deep integration of clinical and scientific expertise to ensure the successful implementation of the medical affairs strategic plan within a designated geographic region. The FMD is expected to provide insights from the field regarding research developments, treatment landscapes, and new medical treatment concepts, all while adhering to a non-promotional nature of the role. The FMD will act as the primary clinical and scientific resource for Key External Experts (KEEs) and healthcare practitioners (HCPs) within their specified geography. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality scientific information, maintaining relationships with KOLs, and facilitating communication between external experts and the company's internal teams. The FMD will also be responsible for developing and implementing medical territory plans, leading special projects, and supporting data generation for Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs). Additionally, the FMD will engage with professional organizations and collaborate on medical affairs initiatives, including publications and advisory boards. To succeed in this role, the FMD must possess a strong knowledge of oncology and related disease states, as well as the competitive landscape of ImmunityBio's products. The position requires excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work cross-functionally, and a commitment to compliance with policies and regulations. The FMD will also be expected to travel frequently, approximately 50% of the time, to engage with stakeholders and support clinical development efforts.
