About the position

The Field Merchandising Manager at Circle K is responsible for overseeing merchandising strategies and execution within the assigned business unit. This role requires a significant amount of time spent in the field, supporting pilots and testing activities, and ensuring that marketing initiatives are effectively implemented. The manager will advocate for customer needs, coordinate product launches, and maintain relationships with various teams to optimize merchandising practices and drive sales revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Support pilots/testing activities, including preparation and delivering communication materials.
  • Track results and feedback to the appropriate team.
  • Provide local insights to Hub leadership based on marketplace understanding.
  • Advocate for the customer across the category, engaging Operations to support.
  • Lead the execution of national schematics efforts with local assortment.
  • Coordinate and manage reset teams in all aspects.
  • Own product launches locally and support local partners and technical teams to troubleshoot customer-facing issues.
  • Foster positive relationships between the Hub team, Spoke team, and Operational team.
  • Coach and mentor Operational staff on merchandising product assortments that reflect Hub initiatives and local customer demand.
  • Support operations team regarding best merchandising practices at the site level.
  • Collaborate and support Country and HUB activities for the Category.
  • Collaborate with Hub for product forecasts and distributions.
  • Monitor local competitor retail and make recommendations appropriately.
  • Oversee local store layouts, category space allocation, and product affinities based on Hub recommendations.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy to the HUB for evaluation.
  • Select vendors, negotiate costs and terms for products, and develop schematics according to category management principles.
  • Increase sales revenues by developing promotional concepts and category plans.
  • Establish and monitor gross margins by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas.
  • Project and measure category sales and gross profit results by maintaining records of item cost and retail.
  • Maintain vendor relations by providing direction and resolving concerns.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and publications.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing Financial and Key Result Area targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, business, or related field preferred.
  • Five years of experience or more in merchandising, including three years of management responsibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Valid Driver's License supported by a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
