About the position

As a Field Engineer at TIC, you will play a crucial role in our construction operations, bringing your innovative ideas and strong work ethic to the forefront. You will be responsible for interpreting drawings and specifications, preparing work plans, and managing material deliveries to ensure smooth operations on-site. Additionally, you will engage in office engineering tasks, including performing takeoffs from drawings, generating change orders, and providing support to subcontractors. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about construction and eager to make a difference in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft, prepare work plans and work packages, order and schedule material deliveries
  • Perform takeoffs from drawings, generating change orders reviewed by the Project Manager, provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
  • Review and analyze data relative to the project, complete plans and specification reviews for projects, assist with the preparation of a bid

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA requirements
  • Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling and cost control as well as to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log and/or Primavera 'P6' is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Strong work ethic - highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
  • Ability to travel and/or relocate as required
  • Reliable transportation to and from work

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log and/or Primavera 'P6' is a plus
