About the position

As a Field Engineer at TIC, a Kiewit Subsidiary, you will play a crucial role in the construction of industrial projects, contributing to the development of significant infrastructure such as tunnels, energy facilities, and bridges. This entry-level position offers a blend of field and office work, providing opportunities for travel and relocation while working on diverse projects across the United States. You will be responsible for interpreting project specifications, supporting field operations, and assisting in estimating and project management tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft.
  • Prepare work plans and work packages.
  • Order and schedule material deliveries.
  • Perform takeoffs from drawings and generate change orders reviewed by the Project Manager.
  • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
  • Review and analyze data relative to the project.
  • Complete plans and specification reviews for projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of a bid.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of project scheduling and cost control.
  • Ability to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log and/or Primavera 'P6' is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong work ethic - highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with project management software such as SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log and/or Primavera 'P6'.
