The Field Operations Coordinator at OPENLANE plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of vehicle inspections and assessments. This position is integral to the operations team, which is responsible for coordinating with dealerships and ensuring that all vehicle inspections adhere to OPENLANE's standards and guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the automotive industry, with at least five years of experience in vehicle mechanics or a related field. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can accurately document vehicle conditions and communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including sales teams and dealership personnel. In this position, you will conduct thorough vehicle assessments, utilizing OPENLANE's mobile application to document inspections of engines, transmissions, interiors, and exteriors. You will be responsible for submitting detailed inspection reports and maintaining strong communication with both internal teams and external dealerships. Additionally, you will assist in marketing efforts by distributing promotional materials to buying dealers, further enhancing the visibility of OPENLANE's services. The Field Operations Coordinator operates on a Tuesday to Saturday schedule from 9 AM to 6 PM PST, making it essential for candidates to be flexible and available during these hours. The role is based in the Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Redwood City areas, and candidates should ideally reside nearby to facilitate efficient operations. Responsibilities

  • Conduct vehicle assessments, documenting engine, transmission, interior, and exterior inspections using OPENLANE's mobile application.
  • Coordinate with dealerships and ensure adherence to OPENLANE standards and guidelines for vehicle inspections.
  • Submit accurate and detailed inspection reports through the designated platform.
  • Assist in marketing efforts by distributing flyers and promotional materials to buying dealers.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with internal teams and dealerships.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive experience as a vehicle mechanic or equivalent mechanical background.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including electronic submission of inspection reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
