About the position

As a Field Operations Coordinator at OPENLANE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of vehicle inspections and assessments. This position is integral to our dynamic operations team, which is dedicated to providing exceptional service to our customers and maintaining high standards in vehicle assessments. You will be responsible for conducting thorough vehicle inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating with dealerships to ensure compliance with OPENLANE's guidelines. Your expertise in automotive mechanics and your attention to detail will be essential in identifying any damages or concerns during inspections. In this role, you will utilize OPENLANE's mobile application to perform inspections, covering various aspects of the vehicles, including engine, transmission, interior, and exterior conditions. You will also be tasked with submitting detailed inspection reports through our designated platform, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and comprehensive. Your ability to communicate effectively with the Regional Operations Manager, sales team, and other internal teams will be vital in maintaining efficient workflows and fostering positive relationships with dealerships. Additionally, you will assist in marketing efforts by distributing promotional materials to buying dealers, further enhancing our outreach and customer engagement. This position requires a proactive approach, as you will be expected to maintain strong communication and collaboration with both internal teams and external partners. Your customer-focused mindset will help you serve as a liaison between sales, operations, and dealerships, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the inspection process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vehicle assessments, documenting engine, transmission, interior, and exterior inspections using OPENLANE's mobile application.
  • Coordinate with dealerships and ensure adherence to OPENLANE standards and guidelines for vehicle inspections.
  • Submit accurate and detailed inspection reports through the designated platform.
  • Assist in marketing efforts by distributing flyers and promotional materials to buying dealers.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with internal teams and dealerships.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive experience as a vehicle mechanic or equivalent mechanical background.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including electronic submission of inspection reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Previous customer service experience.
