About the position

The Field Operations Manager at Alpha Video & Audio Inc is responsible for leading the Field Team, ensuring high performance standards, and overseeing training for both new and existing employees. This role emphasizes quality assurance, team collaboration, and effective communication across departments to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction. The manager will also mentor future leaders within the team and manage vendor relationships to ensure resource availability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for the Field Team members including those in Installation, Engineering, Service, and Trainers.
  • Foster collaboration and act as the communication conduit between other departments and the Field team.
  • Oversee budgetary management with the assistance of the EVP of Design and Delivery and the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Mentor and coach individuals to raise future leaders within the Field Team.
  • Oversee staffing of the Field Team, including hiring, promoting, and terminating employees when necessary.
  • Develop strategies to increase efficiency and improve employee satisfaction.
  • Create and communicate evolving standards to Field Team staff and subcontractors, ensuring adherence by both groups.
  • Measure the effectiveness of standards through in-field quality checks for subcontractors and Alpha Video staff.
  • Monitor industry best practices to create higher quality and more efficient outcomes.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure materials are available for the Field Team.
  • Clear obstacles for the Field Team to focus on client needs and experience.
  • Ensure the Field Team has necessary resources and tools to succeed onsite.
  • Develop working relationships with PMO & Engineering departments to facilitate greater efficiency in project execution.
  • Create training opportunities for process improvement, career development, and safety training.
  • Provide insights to the EVP of Design & Development regarding the health of the Field Team.
  • Communicate leadership goals and vision to the Field Team.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of successful experience leading a field installation team.
  • 1-3 years in the AV, digital signage, and broadcast industry in an installation capacity.
  • Three years of people management experience, including performance oversight and conflict resolution.
  • Previous experience in developing training and career development tracks.
  • 2+ years of managing vendors and subcontractors.
  • A successful track record of process improvement that creates measurable efficiencies.
  • Ability to step in as Installer, PM, and Engineer as needed.
  • Experience working directly with Senior Leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated leadership training/education/certification.
  • Other industry certifications preferred (CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, etc.)
