About the position

The Field Operations Fall 2024 Co-Op position at Consigli Construction Co., Inc. offers an exciting opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in the construction industry, allowing interns to engage with various aspects of project management and operations. As a co-op, you will be part of a team that is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment while contributing to the successful execution of construction projects. In this position, you will assist in administering the project safety program, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols. You will also provide technical assistance on projects, interpreting contract drawings and submittals to support the project team. Daily responsibilities will include collaborating with the assistant superintendent, project superintendent, and project manager on tasks such as preparing daily reports, conducting safety walks, and updating weekly quantity reports and schedules. Understanding the project schedule and critical path will be essential, as will participating in quality assurance programs through inspections and material verifications. Responsibilities

  • Help administer project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Provide technical assistance on the project, interpreting contract drawings and submittals
  • Assist assistant superintendent, project superintendent, and project manager with daily and weekly tasks including daily reports, daily safety walks, weekly quantity reports, and weekly schedule updates
  • Understand the project schedule and the critical path
  • Review content for the short-term plan
  • Participate in the quality program including attending meetings, performing inspections, and verifying materials

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field required
  • Strong preference given for students studying Civil Engineering or a Construction related field
  • Demonstrated interest in construction management and the construction industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Time management skills, with the ability to handle various responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines
