About the position

The Field Operations Supervisor at the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) is responsible for managing and coordinating the meter program activities to support the mission of conserving and protecting the Edwards Aquifer. This role involves overseeing daily operations, conducting field inspections, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while providing guidance to subordinate staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation of the meter program.
  • Provide direction and manage daily operational activities of the meter functions.
  • Schedule field regulatory compliance and enforcement inspections of wells and meters.
  • Maintain accurate records of field investigation activities.
  • Assist Compliance Coordinators in assembling required information for enforcement packets.
  • Draft summary reports and update maps based on field investigations.
  • Provide information to the general public regarding the Edwards Aquifer.
  • Maintain all records concerning field investigations and associated field equipment.
  • Make day-to-day decisions for the functional area and have authority for personnel actions within established policies.
  • Work collaboratively with others and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, biology, civil engineering, or closely related field plus a minimum of three years of progressive responsibility, or a master's degree plus one year of progressive responsibility.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in field investigation for hydrogeological and regulatory data collection.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic equipment operations.
  • Ability to exercise flexibility in scheduling activities.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and flexibility.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in site investigation for regulatory purposes.
