About the position

The Field Operator II position at Airswift involves performing essential operational tasks related to natural gas liquids (NGL) in a contract role based in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The role focuses on monitoring and maintaining various mechanical systems, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations, and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily rounds on mechanical compressors, checking coolant, engine oil, compressor oil, and hydraulic levels.
  • Monitor fire loop pressure and conduct visual and audio checks on skids for leaks.
  • Ensure proper functioning of all scrubber dump valves and record discharge and exhaust temperatures.
  • Inspect for loose bolts and clamps, check flare blowdown line for issues, and confirm fan blades and belts are functioning properly.
  • Verify SWD pumps are in auto mode and check containment levels and sump pumps.
  • Monitor thrust chamber oil levels and visually inspect skids for leaks and excessive vibration.
  • Check VRUs for alarms and faults, as well as oil levels on compressors and skids.
  • Confirm proper operation of LACT skid and check oil levels on centrifugal pumps.
  • Inspect NGL skid for leaks and vibration, and check seal pot oil reservoir level.
  • Monitor air compressors for alarms and faults, check oil levels, and ensure proper building temperature and louver operation.
  • Verify auto drain dumps on tanks are functioning correctly and check process inlet/pigging headers for levels and leaks.
  • Inspect sight glasses for leaks and confirm valve alignment and draining low points on slug catchers.
  • Check dump valves on inlet coalescers and confirm levels to SCADA, as well as drain low points.
  • Ensure proper air lining and locked controls on SDV panels, as well as functioning fuel gas skid dumps and sight glasses on scrubbers.
  • Verify containment levels and sump pumps for day tanks, as well as pressure on 220 tank at 45psi.
  • Monitor glycol skid levels and inspect pumps for leaks, as well as check burner temperature and BTEX unit operation.
  • Conduct visual inspections of flare knockouts, verify pump operation, and confirm blowers and pilots are functioning correctly.
  • Check tank tops for leaks, monitor blanket gas pressure, and verify tank levels.
  • Inspect sump tank levels and verify pump operation, as well as check sight glasses, LCVs, and H pumps for leaks.
  • Monitor sales area for leaks and check discharge scrubber level, pig trap alignment, and methanol pump operation.
  • Conduct regular checks on MCCs/PDCs for alarms and bypassed devices, as well as ensure proper cooling to thermostat settings.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the oilfield.
  • Experience with natural gas compressor stations.
  • Proficiency in SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of pumps and compressors.
  • Familiarity with coolant, engine oil, compressor oil, hydraulic oil, fire loop pressure, discharge temperatures, exhaust temperatures, loose bolts/clamps, flare blowdown lines, fan blades/belts, SWD pumps, containment levels, thrust chamber oil levels, VRUs, LACT skids, NGL skids, seal pot oil reservoirs, air compressors, building temperature/louver operation, auto drain dumps on tanks, process inlet/pigging headers, sight glasses/valve alignment/low points on slug catchers/inlet coalescers/SDV panels/fuel gas skids/day tanks/glycol skids/flare knockouts/tank farm/sump pumps/LP3/HP3/methanol pumps/MCCs/PDCs/sales area.
