About the position

We are currently hiring in our Electrical Division for the position of Project Field Coordinator. The Project Field Coordinator will be responsible for the overall maintenance and monitoring of tools and equipment needed on site, requesting purchase orders, and identifying cost-reduction materials by negotiating with trusted suppliers and vendors. This role is primarily field-based, with approximately 90% of the work conducted on-site and 10% in the office. The anticipated work environment includes job trailers and secluded areas, with the majority of tasks performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role entails weekly travel, with expectations for overnight stays dictated by job locations. Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of 2-5 Project Coordinators to ensure field activities are completed for the Electrical division.
  • Support the department with timecards, materials tracking, mark for locates, daily reports, scheduling, cost control, change-order tracking, vendor and subcontractor tracking, client billing, and pay invoices.
  • Assist the Project Team with preparation of bid documentation and help prepare for bid reviews.
  • Meet work standards by following productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, resolving operational problems, and identifying work process improvements as necessary.
  • Help meet cost standards by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-savings actions.
  • Update job knowledge by going to the field, participating in educational opportunities, and getting to know/understand the division.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Some College or relevant Work Experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a project coordinator role and/or experience working in the construction industry (experience with PG&E is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Reasoning ability, including problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite is preferred; Blue Beam software experience is a plus.
  • Time Management and Project Management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the construction industry, particularly with PG&E.
