About the position

The Field Project Coordinator at HDR, Inc. plays a crucial role in overseeing construction projects by ensuring compliance with contracts, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating communication among project stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to interpret technical documents, while also fostering a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor's daily activities, work performed, and the labor, equipment, and materials used.
  • Review construction materials for contract compliance.
  • Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance.
  • Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings.
  • Identify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists, and maintain them until corrected.
  • Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance.
  • Assist with project audit/closeout.
  • Assist with developing project guides and provide information and support for project reviews.
  • Apply company quality assurance guidelines and procedures for project document management.
  • Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and work with technical staff to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services, and subconsultants.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 10 years of progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Computer literate, with experience in Microsoft Office, Site Manager, LIMS, or related construction packages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
