The Field Project Manager at Martin Marietta Materials will provide comprehensive project management support and leadership for capital projects associated with aggregate processing facilities in the Midwest Region of the Central Division. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including the management of project design, estimation, and field construction, as well as overseeing various aggregate plant improvements, new plant installations, and process improvement projects. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring adherence to approved budgets and tracking project completion regularly. This position requires a strong focus on safety and effective communication to maintain the direction of projects within the District. In this role, the Field Project Manager will collaborate closely with Operations Services, Operational Excellence, and Operations teams to address critical project success factors and enhance business processes. The manager will oversee District-wide capital projects, non-capital projects, and Operational Excellence initiatives, continually monitoring and analyzing progress toward operational objectives. Effective communication and coordination with operations managers, senior management, and corporate managers regarding project status are essential. Building and maintaining positive relationships with general contractors and subcontractors is also a key responsibility, as is expanding the pool of contractors available for bidding. The Field Project Manager will analyze the impact of various mechanical improvements on aggregate operations and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and company policies concerning safety, environmental regulations, and equal employment opportunities. The role requires close collaboration with Procurement to ensure the availability of appropriate vendors and suppliers for projects, as well as timely responses to issues as they arise. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for developing project scopes, budgets, initial concepts, and bid documents related to capital construction projects.
