About the position

The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) at Ascendis Pharma is responsible for minimizing reimbursement barriers for patients and providers by providing managed care coverage and reimbursement criteria education. This customer-facing role involves supporting healthcare provider (HCP) offices in integrating products, analyzing reimbursement issues, and collaborating with internal and external partners to resolve access concerns. The FRM will leverage their expertise to enhance patient access to therapies and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate deep knowledge of reimbursement and access as the subject matter expert in the assigned territory.
• Educate providers on prior authorization requirements, coverage status, payer appeals requirements, and alternate funding options.
• Create and maintain productive relationships with HCPs and key stakeholders within HCP offices.
• Apply knowledge of specialty pharmacy core services to assist customers in navigating specialty pharmacy distribution.
• Partner with the Patient Support Team to ensure accurate coverage determinations and timely access for patients.
• Develop business plans by performing strategic analyses of customers to identify issues and opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to respond to local opportunities and customer needs.
• Work with the Regional Lead to develop a local access strategy plan that meets KPI goals.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree
• 8+ years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech or related healthcare industry
• 3-6 years experience with Specialty Pharmaceuticals/Biologics
• Significant expertise in market access and reimbursement matters
• Strong understanding of Specialty Pharmacy and third-party services
• In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance and patient confidentiality
• Knowledge of regulations governing the protection of patient identifying information.
