About the position

The Field Safety Supervisor is responsible for monitoring safety and health regulations within the organization, providing technical support to both plant and personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations. This role involves collaboration with various departments, enforcing safety programs, and promoting safety awareness throughout the company.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor safety and health regulations to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Provide technical safety and health support to field and corporate personnel.
  • Enforce safety and health programs and policies.
  • Identify safety training needs and develop safety training programs.
  • Participate in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses and operator training.
  • Support project management in implementing engineering controls to minimize safety hazards.
  • Assist field personnel in selecting appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain the corporate safety library, including videos and reference manuals.
  • Promote safety and health awareness through internal communications and training programs.
  • Serve as a member of the executive environmental health and safety committee.
  • Participate in the company occupational safety and health committee.
  • Assist in implementing a hazard communication program and preparing reports.
  • Review process-operating procedures and provide input for safety considerations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Audit manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitor lost-time injuries and worker's compensation claims.
  • Review safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports.
  • Review incident investigation reports and follow up as necessary.
  • Develop and coordinate safety planning documents such as SWPs and JSAs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety science, engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least five years of experience in a safety coordinator position or higher.
