About the position

The Luxury Manager (LM) at The RealReal is a key Outside Sales position responsible for driving new consignment business by acquiring luxury items from clients within an assigned territory. This role requires a customer-obsessed and self-motivated individual who thrives in a quota-driven sales environment, focusing on building client relationships and providing an outstanding client experience through in-home appointments and daily outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Convert marketing generated leads into new clients and self-generate new business by prospecting and activating lapsed leads.
  • Connect with clients to drive consignment activity through daily outreach and in-home appointments.
  • Leverage strong client relationships to gain referrals for new business.
  • Procure consigned goods from clients and ship to ecommerce centers on their behalf.
  • Outreach daily to leads and clients.
  • Provide an outstanding client experience.
  • Review contract with clients.
  • Set pricing expectations through deep knowledge of luxury, while utilizing internal tools and resources.
  • Partner with Consignor Relations team to proactively resolve client issues or concerns.
  • Regularly spend more than 70% in the field building client relationships and acquiring consigned items.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years direct sales experience with a proven track record for success in performance-based direct sales roles.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and establish trust and credibility with clients.
  • Ability to commit to 40 hours per week and occasionally work off-hours as required by clientele.
  • Self-motivation and drive to achieve results.
  • Stellar communication skills - both written and verbal; Ability to effectively interface with sophisticated clientele and adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
  • Proven ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, dedicated, and results-oriented with a strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency with technological tools including Salesforce or a CRM of similar caliber and G-suite.
  • Team-focused mentality with a passion for collaboration.
  • A solutions-focused mentality with a growth mindset.
  • Adaptability and openness to change.
  • Highly coachable with an eagerness to learn.
  • Must live and regularly meet with clients in person anywhere within assigned territory.
  • A current, valid driver's license (except in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Chicago markets).
  • Car insurance that meets or exceeds local requirements.
  • A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) *Driving record background check of the past 3 years or as provided for by applicable law.
  • Ability to travel more than 70% within designated market.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to discuss and advise customers on general fashion trends and developments in the luxury market.
