About the position

The Account Luxury Manager (ALM) at The RealReal is an Outside Sales role focused on driving repeat consignment business by acquiring consigned items from existing clients within an assigned territory. This position requires a customer-obsessed and self-motivated individual who thrives in a quota-driven sales environment, primarily through in-home appointments and daily outreach to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with established clients to re-engage and drive consignment activity through daily outreach and in-home appointments.
  • Follow up on leads generated by the marketing team.
  • Leverage strong consignor relationships to gain referrals for new business.
  • Procure consigned goods from clients and ship to ecommerce centers on their behalf.
  • Provide an outstanding client experience.
  • Review contracts with clients and set pricing expectations based on luxury market knowledge.
  • Partner with the Consignor Relations team to proactively resolve client issues or concerns.
  • Spend more than 70% of time in the field building client relationships and acquiring consigned items.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years direct sales experience with a proven track record in a performance-based sales or business development role.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and establish trust and credibility with clients.
  • Commitment to 40 hours per week and occasional off-hours work as required by clientele.
  • Self-motivation and drive to achieve results.
  • Stellar communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency with technological tools including Salesforce or a similar CRM and G-suite.
  • Team-focused mentality with a passion for collaboration.
  • Adaptability and openness to change.
  • Must live in Manhattan and regularly meet with clients in person within the assigned territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience selling luxury goods and/or services.
  • Account management experience.
  • Existing book of clients.
  • Ability to discuss and advise customers on general fashion trends and developments in the luxury market.
