About the position

The Field Sales Development Program at McKesson is designed to cultivate early career sales professionals, providing them with the skills and experience necessary to succeed in sales roles within the healthcare industry. Participants will start as Field Sales Development Representatives and have the opportunity to advance to Account Executive positions. The role primarily involves selling McKesson's product portfolio through phone-based interactions, with the potential for in-person customer visits as competence is demonstrated. The program emphasizes achieving sales targets, developing account strategies, and maintaining customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve territory sales and gross profit plans to meet assigned sales targets by maximizing revenue opportunities on each assigned account, reactivating accounts, and prospecting for new business.
  • Complete a minimum of 3+ hours and 40 customer calls per day, adjusting metrics as the role transitions to field visits.
  • Develop account strategies, territory planning, and administrative follow-up to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize sales technology and CRM software to engage with clients and maintain records of sales leads and customer accounts.
  • Conduct in-person field sales presentations and customer site visits with a manager or training team member when permitted.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, representing the McKesson Brand.
  • Enhance selling skills through required trainings, certifications, and development initiatives.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of sales experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record
  • Ability to relocate upon territory assignment

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in primary care, extended care, podiatry, orthopedic, or emergency medical services (EMS)
  • Experience with cold calling, sales negotiation, and closing skills
  • Previous sales training program (sales certificate, sales training program, sales internship)
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management systems (SFDC, Goldmine, ACT, etc.)
