About the position

The Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for achieving the company's sales goals within the assigned territory by focusing on the management of existing customers, development of new opportunities, furthering strategic markets, and developing strong and rewarding internal and external customer relationships. This position, under moderate supervision and guidance, functions as the principal relationship manager to the customers in the assigned territory by aligning customers' needs with the company's product and applications engineering, customer service, and marketing efforts. The role requires a proactive approach to sales, ensuring that the needs of the customers are met while also promoting the company's products and services effectively. In this role, the Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for effectively managing the sales effort in an assigned geographic area. They will serve as the critical link between Dodge and the customers, acting as an expert who consults with customers to provide engineering and application assistance. The Field Sales Engineer will be a solution provider, not just a product salesperson, and will be extensively trained in all facets of company knowledge, industry applications, products, and effective solution selling principles. Attendance at work is considered an essential function of the job, emphasizing the importance of reliability and commitment to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales effort in an assigned geographic area.
  • Act as the principal relationship manager to customers in the assigned territory.
  • Align customers' needs with the company's product and applications engineering, customer service, and marketing efforts.

  • Provide solutions to customers, focusing on their needs rather than just selling products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Industrial Distribution.
  • Product knowledge relevant to the industry.
  • Experience in selling to customer needs.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
  • High motivation to succeed.
  • Strong work ethic.

  • Mechanical aptitude.
