About the position

The Sales Representative at Alkegen is responsible for achieving the annual sales program for a designated territory. This role involves developing new accounts, marketing, and selling new products while maintaining a high level of knowledge about the company's offerings. The representative will service all customers within the assigned territory, provide market insights to management, and operate within a set budget. The position requires significant travel, primarily within the territory, to meet sales goals and build customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain annual sales program for specific sales territory as assigned by management.
  • Develop new accounts, markets, and sales of new products in line with the Company's Business Plan.
  • Maintain knowledge of Company's products, applications, services, and policies.
  • Service all customers within the assigned territory.
  • Provide management with market information and competitive updates.
  • Manage channels of distribution and penetrate new accounts while maintaining existing business.
  • Call on prospective customers, providing information and demonstrations.
  • Assess customer requirements and competitor activity.
  • Develop and execute ethylene market plans.
  • Maximize time in front of customers and minimize travel time.
  • Utilize CRM software to identify, progress, and close opportunities.
  • Provide accurate forecasts on a regular basis.
  • Create strategies to penetrate key competitive accounts.
  • Make technical presentations to large audiences and present special programs.
  • Work closely with customer service management to resolve issues and complaints.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in refractory products and existing relationships in adjacent industries.
  • B.S. Degree, Engineering preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English when required.
  • Experience in selling and negotiation on both small and large scales.
  • Knowledge of refractory solutions and the marketplace preferred.
  • Demonstrated success selling technical materials or products in industrial markets.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to build relationships.
  • Knowledge of CRM & ERP systems, Incoterms, and competitive products.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and bill of materials is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Financial Statement Analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM system.
  • Knowledge of products and applications related to refractory solutions.
