About the position

The Field Sales Engineer I position at Shimadzu Scientific Instruments involves selling analytical instrumentation and providing technical support to clients. The role requires establishing strong relationships with accounts, conducting product demonstrations, installations, and training, while achieving sales goals. This position is crucial for driving sales growth and ensuring customer satisfaction through technical proficiency and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with all accounts through regular communication and support
• Achieving and maintaining high technical proficiency in assigned product lines while performing regular sales calls and follow-ups
• Conducting demonstrations, installations, and training for clients on a weekly basis
• Timely submission of required paperwork, including Call Reports, Expense Accounts, and Competitive Marketing Information
• Developing and implementing a quarterly Territorial Marketing Plan to drive sales growth

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a life science field; chemistry preferred
• Minimum of three years of successful sales experience with relevant product lines, including HPLC, GC, LCMS, AA, or similar instruments
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of analytical instruments
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills
• Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays, and a valid driver's license

Nice-to-haves

• PhD or better in Chemistry
• Some knowledge of UV-VIS instruments
• Some knowledge of GCMS instruments
• Some knowledge of LCMS instruments
• Some knowledge of AA instruments
• Some knowledge of GC instruments
