About the position

The Field Sales Engineer position at Allied Machine & Engineering involves managing sales activities within a defined territory in Oklahoma. The role focuses on utilizing technical skills to promote and sell cutting tool systems to potential customers, while also maintaining relationships with distributors and end users. This remote position requires the candidate to reside in the territory, preferably in Oklahoma City, and offers a training program for those with less experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a territory business plan with identified target accounts to meet required sales increases.
  • Maintain and develop additional end user business at existing accounts and supervise associated distributors.
  • Expand new end user accounts and supervise distributors associated with these accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a list of end users within the territory.
  • Establish and maintain distributor relationships.
  • Review and recommend adjustments to distributor stocking and discount programs to motivate sales.
  • Motivate distributor sales personnel to increase company sales through various means.
  • Maintain a high degree of technical proficiency regarding all company products and communicate effectively with distributors and end users.
  • Develop OEM accounts within the territory as directed by the regional sales manager.
  • Keep distributors informed of current sales policies and any changes.
  • Conduct workshops or seminars with distributors and end users as required.
  • Maintain timely reporting procedures regarding itineraries, expense reports, and business reports.
  • Identify new opportunities.
  • Work on special assignments as directed by the regional sales manager.

Requirements

  • 2-year engineering or technology degree or comparable work experience; 4-year degree preferred.
  • Machining experience preferred; training program available.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Communication skills both oral and written.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
