About the position

The Field Sales Engineer at Alkegen is responsible for achieving annual sales targets within a designated territory. This role involves developing new accounts, maintaining existing relationships, and providing technical support for the company's refractory and ceramic fiber products. The position requires a proactive approach to market development, including cold calling and creating strategic territory plans to enhance market share and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual sales program for assigned territory.
  • Develop and penetrate new accounts while maintaining existing business.
  • Create yearly territory plans aligned with company goals.
  • Provide superior technical support and solutions to customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of market influences and competitive landscape.
  • Utilize CRM software to manage customer relationships and sales opportunities.
  • Conduct technical presentations and training sessions for customers.
  • Collaborate with application engineering team to improve product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Collect and communicate competitive information to the marketing team.
  • Manage customer service issues related to quality, delivery, and accounts receivable.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in refractory products and relationships in the HPI, Oil and Gas, and Petro-chemical industry.
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Fluency in German and ability to communicate in English.
  • Experience in selling and negotiation on various scales.
  • Knowledge of refractory solutions and the marketplace.
  • Demonstrated success in selling technical materials in industrial markets.
  • Self-motivated with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM & ERP systems, Incoterms, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial statement analysis.

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM system.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and bills of materials.
